Permanent residence opportunity Indian Student and Family After Migrating to New Zealand A New Zealand study trip gives you the option of permanently migrating to a country with an enviable lifestyle. The New Zealand Government estimates that 23% of those who obtained student visas over the past decade were granted permanent residency within 5 years (Migration Trends and Outlook Report, March 2013). New Zealand has a Study to Work Policy that links employers with highly skilled graduates and provides a pathway to residence for those students. Students can also transition to permanent residency after obtaining a work visa. International students may also be granted a Graduate Job Search visa for a maximum of 12 months after completing their studies. In 2011-12, 9,938 people were granted such a visa. India was the largest source country (52%), followed by China (21%).
