10. Natural & open environment Kayaking along New Zealand's coastline A spectacular landscape and sparse population give New Zealand a special quality. Even if you don't get to experience much of it on a daily basis, it leaves lasting impressions. People who experienced New Zealand talk about outdoor experiences and adventure sports. These include nature walks, skiing, bike riding and boating. There is an abundance of fresh produce and the food and wine are rated highly. This is how an Auckland resident of 10 years who moved from the UK puts it: Amazing scenery. Pretty much everywhere you go, it's either scenic, very scenic or extremely scenic! You can drive for a short distance and witness huge changes in the landscape - rain forest, mountains, volcanoes, fiords, semi-desert - you name it. Less stress too. It's far less crowded and busy than the UK. Even in Auckland I know of at least 8 beaches within an hour's drive where you could pretty much guarantee that you'll have the place to yourself - ten other people max

9. Permanent residence opportunity Indian Student and Family After Migrating to New Zealand A New Zealand study trip gives you the option of permanently migrating to a country with an enviable lifestyle. The New Zealand Government estimates that 23% of those who obtained student visas over the past decade were granted permanent residency within 5 years (Migration Trends and Outlook Report, March 2013). New Zealand has a Study to Work Policy that links employers with highly skilled graduates and provides a pathway to residence for those students. Students can also transition to permanent residency after obtaining a work visa. International students may also be granted a Graduate Job Search visa for a maximum of 12 months after completing their studies. In 2011-12, 9,938 people were granted such a visa. India was the largest source country (52%), followed by China (21%).

8. Easy admission & entry New Zealand Student Visa New Zealand is perhaps the easiest major study destination for gaining course admission and a student visa. Choosing New Zealand is a way of avoiding application hassles and rejection. For many students, it may be the most viable option for gaining admission to a preferred line of study. The requirements for gaining admission into a course are usually spelled out by the education institution and seldom involve an admission test. There is little or no competition for entry to undergraduate courses. A properly filled out online application form - which many students do themselves online - often guarantees acceptance provided you meet basic admission requirements. Postgraduate courses can, however, be more competitive. They may require lengthy job experience for example. Visa applications involve more paperwork than study applications but are simple compared to some other countries. The main requirements for a student visa are evidence of admission to a course and demonstrating you have adequate financial resources.

7. Quality education programs New Zealand University ProfessorNew Zealand has a high-quality education system and a quality assurance framework to maintain standards. It means choosing to study in New Zealand brings relatively little risk that you will be let down by poor instruction. The quality of New Zealand's tertiary education system flows from the general quality of schooling. In international skill development tests of 15 year-old students, the Kiwis rank 7th in the world. They are fractionally behind Canada as the leading English-speaking country. These figures come from the OECD's Program for International Student Assessment. Seven out of eight of New Zealand's universities are ranked in the world's top 500 according to major ranking reports. Such assessments are based mainly on research output. New Zealand academics are usually required to combine teaching and research. The university system is strongly integrated with Europe and academics often move to and from New Zealand.

6.A learning-friendly environment New Zealand University Student with Scenic View New Zealand allows you to focus on study while learning about other things such as culture and the natural environment. New Zealand has small communities and class sizes and is geographically isolated. It was one of the last places on Earth to be touched by human civilisation. This means that, as an international student, you can focus on study without many of the distractions routinely faced at home. All students want to get more out of their study experience than just academic learning. New Zealand also offers that. The small population - around 4.5 million in total - means locals tend be more welcoming and engaging than elsewhere. There is little chance of getting a 'lost in the city' feeling. You enter a community where people are used to knowing many of those around them. The community itself has been shaped by Maori and European cultures. Living in New Zealand also helps you understand the natural environment. There is more of it than in many other parts of the world. The ecology is unique because New Zealand's isolation prevented colonisation by many species commonly found elsewhere.

5. Friendly, welcoming locals International students report varying experiences about their interactions with New Zealanders. You will definitely feel welcome if you are a sheep - there will be millions of like-minded others. Otherwise, your reception will depend on personal qualities. If you have a grating personality, NZ probably won't be the place where you suddenly become popular.

3. A quality education system New Zealand students do well in international performance comparisons and the country's universities are highly ranked academically. This is all good for international students. But you still need to find an institution and program to deliver quality instruction to you.

2. Adventure sports & a recreational lifestyle There are many sports and outdoor activities available and the countryside is never far away. There are also hills, as well as wind and rain to contend with at times. You may also find yourself buried in assignments or just too lazy to do something like bungy jumping every other weekend.

1. Spectacular scenery No doubt about it. Of course, how much value you get from it depends on where you live and how far you are prepared to travel.
